UK Gambling Commission in a collaboration with the Swedish Gaming Authority

Swedish Gaming Authority

The (UK) Gambling Commission has agreed with the Swedish Gaming Authority in a collaboration. The purpose is to facilitate communication and promote information exchange between the two authorities. The agreement between the two came into force on November 11, 2019, which means that the cooperation has already been established as of today. *Our note. Earlier this year, the Swedish Gaming Inspection also reported on collaborations with The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and The Gibraltar Gambling Division.

What consequences this cooperation can have for the Swedish regulated market and future legislation can only be speculated on at present. We assume that Sweden will follow roughly the same guidelines that are followed under UK legislation.

Swedish Gambling Inspector General Director Camilla Rosenberg comments: “This is an important agreement for us as we have a common interest in many areas. By opening communication channels between the authorities, we become stronger in our supervisory activities."
