The Swedish Football Association cannot appeal against betting

Swedish Betting

The Court of Appeal rejects the Swedish Football Association's (Svff) appeal concerning the Swedish Gaming Board's decision on licenses for online gambling. The Administrative Court of Appeal thus makes the same assessment as the Administrative Court, which is in line with the opinion of the Swedish Gaming Board. However, the Swedish Games Inspectorate's work and regulations on measures against match fixing will continue.

Background
In December 2018, the Swedish Football Association requested that the Administrative Court would stop the new gaming licenses for betting. The union considered that the game form invites match fixing and wanted to see more restrictions in the game licenses.
