Sweden Gaming

Since the new Swedish gaming law came into force on January 1, 2019, it has became easier for players to shut themselves off from all Swedish licensed gaming sites. Swedish newspaper GP writes that in just a few days, nearly 4,000 people have taken advantage of the opportunity. This can be done at spelpaus.se (Spelinspektionen.se). The majority, just over 2,500 people, have chosen a variant, where they are shut down until further notice. Swedish players can also choose to turn off themselfs for 1 month, 3 months or 6 months as other options. Since the turn of the year gaming companies needs an accepted Swedish gaming license to take part in the Swedish market and they will also need to pay 18 percent in tax on the gaming surplus and follow the guidelines issued by the Swedish Gaming Authority.
